Hello All. Today’s discussion will be focused around the upcoming plans for CORD’s website. Hopefully Leslie will also join in to help facilitate, but for now I will say a few things.

    1) I would like to start releasing CORD blogs on (roughly) a weekly basis. It is important that we get the word about CORD out to the general public, and blogs are becoming an ever-more popular way to do that. Therefore, if you could please respond to this post to let me know what sort of topics you might like to contribute, that would be wonderful. As well, if there is anyone within your respective institutions that you feel could contribute something relevant to CORD’s priorities, we would be very happy to consider posting a guest blog from them as well.

    2) Our website has not currently been made “public” yet… but the intention is that when it IS made public, we will have a bit of a ‘grand opening’ by making a showpiece of the work that the Mediation group has done up to this point. In Delhi, Leslie recorded interviews with most or all of the Mediation authors, so the plan is to use those interviews in combination with short chapter summaries of the new book. Leslie and Bettina – is this basically what you had in mind? Other mediation authors… if you have another idea for presenting your work, please do share!

    3) As I mentioned previously, it would be great if everyone could create a Profile by clicking on the top right corner of your screen where it says “Welcome (your name).” Once you have done that, our “Member list” will automatically be generated and will include your research areas of focus. So far I have seen that Laura has created a profile – thank you, Laura! : )

    4) Please have a look through the rest of the website and feel free to make any suggestions about the formatting, style, content, etc. I would especially recommend that you try out the Workspace feature, which is meant to be used as a collaborative tool for writing with multiple authors.

Thanks Becky, for the summary items.

As Becky noted, our first priority is to create a multimedia section to showcase the Mediation work and authors. This will help drive traffic to the printed book when it is published.

What we need from Lawrence and Bettina are:
    1. An updated synopsis of the book.
    2. A table of contents and authors.
    3. Abstracts for each chapter.

We will then be able to incorporate the videos in appropriate places.

    Thanks,
    Leslie

First of all, congratulations to Becky and Leslie, the platform is friendly, the content is clear, appealing an interesting. I just completed my profile.
A next step may be to open a virtual space for the working groups to meet and discuss and, also, to open space in the website to present the working groups, their plans, schedule… If you want to test the idea I can prepare something in this line.
    Best,
    Vera

    Hi Becky and all!

First of all, great job on the website. It´s really nice, clean and most important: user-friendly.

Second, I think having a blog its a great idea and I am happy to contribute to this iniative, if you need any help.

On the website, just a quick note on CEBRAP’s hyperlink on the bottom; the full name in Portuguese has a typo. Becky, could you please correct to : Centro Brasileiro de Análise e Planejamento.

    Thanks!

    Hi all,

thank you Becky and Leslie for a great job on the website.

Laurence and I will send the mediation material asap.

It would be great to set up a “publications” section….links to material published by CORD members.

    Bettina.
